Luc Besson

Luc Besson, a French director born on March 18, 1959, boasts an extensive filmography, having directed, written, and produced more than 150 films. His works, such as Léon: The Professional and The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, earned him César Award nominations, and he won the Best Director César Award for The Fifth Element. He competed with American studios through Taken and The Transporter, both produced entirely by French teams. Lucy remains the most commercially successful French film worldwide. The Academy of Cinema Arts awarded him an exceptional gold medal during the 40th César Awards. Among his directorial highlights, The Big Blue (1988) is considered one of his most iconic successes.
Paolo Carnera

Paolo Carnera, an Italian cinematographer born in Venice, graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, where he studied under Carlo Di Palma. He has worked as a Director of Photography with many acclaimed filmmakers, including Paolo Taviani, Mario Martone, Fratelli d’Innocenzo, and Stefano Sollima, on films such as Leonora Addio, Nostalgia, Bad Tales, and Suburra，among others. These films have been featured at prestigious festivals, including Berlin, Cannes, and Venice. In 2023, he collaborated with Matteo Garrone on Me Captain, which was nominated for Best International Film at the 96th Academy Awards. Carnera has received seven David di Donatello nominations. In 2020, he won the Silver Ribbon for Bad Tales. In 2023, he won the David di Donatello Best Cinematography for Me Captain.
Olivier Megaton

Olivier MEGATON began his career as an artist in the 1980s, influenced by urban culture in the graffiti scene where he was one of the pioneers. He has also directed many films, short films, music videos, ads, etc. He has directed 6 feature films like "EXIT" (2000), "The Red Siren" (2002), "Transporter 3" (2008), "Colombiana" (2011), "Taken 2" (2012), "Taken 3" (2015), and "The Last Days of American Crime" (2019) and is also involved in documentaries. His unique path has made him successful, especially in action films. He also explores new mediums like writing novels and comics.

Wang Jingchun

Chinese actor, graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy. His representative works include: The Police Diary, Black Coal, Thin Ice, So Long, My Son, etc. In 2009, he won the Outstanding Actor Award at the 10th TV Movie Lily Award for his acting in the movie Crazy Rose. In 2013, he won the Best Actor Award at the 26th Tokyo International Film Festival for his acting in the movie The Police Diary. Later, for his acting in the movie So Long, My Son, he won the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival, the Best Actor Award at the 32nd Chinese Golden Rooster Film Awards, and the Annual Actor Award of the 11th Chinese Film Directors' Guild Awards. He is the only Chinese actor who has won the Best Actor Award at both Eastern and Western top-tier international A-list film festivals.
Zhang Yi

Laura Citarella

Laura Citarella is an Argentinian filmmaker. She has been part of El Pampero Cine – an independent group of filmmakers based in Buenos Aires – and from there she has been producing and directing films for almost 25 years. As producer, some of her films are: La Flor (Llinás, 2018), Historias Extraordinarias (Llinás, 2008), Castro (Moguillansky, 2009) and La Vendedora de Fósforos (Moguillansky, 2009). As director, her films are: Ostende (2011); La Mujer de los Perros (2015, in co-directed with Verónica Llinás), Las Poetas visitan a Juana Bignozzi (2019, co-directed with Mercedes Halfon) and Trenque Lauquen (2022). Trenque Lauquen was premiered at Venice International Film Festival and since then it has been awarded and recognized as one of the most particular and special pieces of last ten years. The film was also recognized as the best film of the year by Cahiers du Cinema on 2023. Also, was chosen best film by the Hainan Film Festival (2022). Citarella made her last film – a short film called El Affaire Miu Miu, produced by Miu Miu – Prada – on August 2024 and presented it at the Mostra di Venezia that same year.

Ju Anqi

Ju Anqi is an internationally acclaimed film director and one of the significant authors in contemporary world cinema. His works have participated in over 40 international film festivals and exhibited at top global art institutions such as The Center Pompidou in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His representative works include There's a Strong Wind in Beijing, Poet on a Business Trip, and A Trophy on the Sea. Since 2019, he has been working on the "Chinese Architectural Heritage Trilogy," with the first film, Building, premiering at the 4th Hainan International Film Festival. In 2023, Building received the Exploration and Innovation Award at the 45th World Heritage Convention by UNESCO. The same year, he also served as a jury member for the Golden Goblet Awards at the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival.
Yung Chang

Yung Chang is the multi-award-winning director of feature documentaries Up the Yangtze, China Heavyweight, The Fruit Hunters, and This is Not a Movie etc. His latest was nominated for Outstanding Current Affairs Documentary in the 44th News & Documentary Emmy® Awards and qualified for the Oscars®.His films have been critically-acclaimed, receiving awards in Paris, Milan, Vancouver, San Francisco, the Canadian Screen Award, Taiwan Golden Horse (twice), Cinema Eye Honors, among others and have been nominated at Sundance, the Independent Spirit Awards and the Emmys. Chang is also the recipient of the Don Haig Award, the Yolande and Pierre Perrault Award, and the Guggenheim Emerging Artist Award. In 2013, he was invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Miguel Ribeiro

Artistic coordinator of Casa do Comum, new cultural venue in Lisbon which opened in November 2023 with a multidisciplinary programme between film, music, literature and performance arts. Before, Ribeiro directed Doclisboa between 2020 and 2023, after serving in its programming team since 2012. Part of the board of Apordoc - The Portuguese Documentary Association since 2016, he juried in film festivals such as CPH:DOX (Denmark), Mar del Plata (Argentina), Thessaloniki (Greece), DocumentaMadrid (Spain), Jihlava (Czech Republic), among others.

Li Ruijun

As a home-grown director of the new generation, Li Ruijun, born in 1983 in Gansu Province, China, has so far completed six feature-length ﬁlms, among which Fly with the Crane has been screened at Venice’s Horizons, and River Road at the competition section of Tokyo International Film Festival as well as Crystal Bear of the Berlin International Film Festival. His ﬁlms have won numerous awards in multiple international ﬁlm festivals. Walking Past the Future is his ﬁfth feature-length ﬁlm, at the UN CERTAIN REGARD of Cannes International Film Festival. Return to Dust is his sixth feature-length ﬁlm, at the competition of the Berlin International Film Festival, in which his ﬁlm aesthetics and unique perspective continue to shape the story like no others.
Bao Jingjing

Bao Jingjing, a Chinese scriptwriter.Representative film works include Love is Not Blind, Our Shining Days, and Up in the Wind. Representative series works include Never a Dull Moment. In 2011, she served as the screenwriter for the romantic film Love is Not Blind, and won the Best Adapted Screenplay Award at the 49th Golden Horse Awards with this film. In 2012, she was nominated for the Best Screenwriter at the 19th Shanghai Television Festival with the drama The Ups and Downs in the City. In 2013, she worked as the screenwriter for the film Up in the Wind. In 2017, she won the Most Media-Concerned Screenwriter Award in the Media Focus Unit of the 20th Shanghai International Film Festival with the youth campus film Our Shining Days.
Margherita Giusti

Margherita Giusti is an Italian director and animator. She attended a directing course at Cinecittà and created the 3D short film Beato Chi Riceve La Grazia, which was selected for Prospettive Italia at the 2012 Rome Film Festival. She later worked in Rome as an assistant director and storyboard artist. In 2020, she graduated from the Centro Sperimentale in Turin with En Rang Par Deux, an animated documentary co-directed with Elisabetta Bosco and Viola Mancini, which won multiple awards. In 2021, she co-founded MUTA, an experimental animation collective.
In 2023, her animated short The Meatseller premiered at the 80th Venice Film Festival, where it later won several awards, including the David di Donatello for Best Short Film and the Prix De La Ville D’Annecy at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

International Jury

Nuri Bilge Ceylan

Turkey director, screenwriter, editor, producer, cinematographer. Nuri Bilge Ceylan began by acting in a short film directed by his friend Mehmet Eryilmaz, towards the end of 1993, he began shooting the short film Koza (Cocoon), the film was screened at Cannes in May 1995 and became the first Turkish short to be selected for competition at the Cannes Film Festival. He directed a number of films including: Kasaba (The Small Town), Mayis Sikintisi (Clouds of May), Uzak (Distant), İklimler (Climates), Üç Maymun (Three Monkeys), Once Upon a Time in Anatolia, Winter Sleep, Kuru Otlar Üstüne (About Dry Grasses).
Caroline Champetier

Caroline Champetier has received numerous awards including the César for Best Photography and the Gianno di Venanzo Prize for Des Hommes et des Dieux in 2011, Silver Frog at Camerimage for Holy Motors , and was also nominated for the César for Best Cinematography for Les Innocentes in 2016 and Les Gardiennes in 2017. In the young generation of French directors, Caroline has worked with Xavier Beauvois Le Petit Lieutenant, Des Hommes et des Dieux , and Leos Carax with the Merde segment in the feature Tokyo ! (Gondry, Carax, Bong Joon Ho) followed by Holy Motors and Annette . This latest collaboration earned her the Lumière Award for Best Cinematography and a nomination for the César for Best Cinematography 2022. In 2022, Caroline worked for the film The Damned Don’t Cry , selected at the Venice Film Festival of the same year. Caroline is currently shooting Benoît Jacquot’s next feature, Belle .
Shahram Mokri

He was invited to the 70th Venice Film Festival in 2013 with his first feature film, Fish & Cat. The film was screened in the Orizzonti section and won the Lion Award for creativity and innovation. In 2018, his second film, Invasion , screened at the 68th Berlin Film Festival and was nominated for the Teddy Award. Mokri returned to Venice in 2020 with his third film, Careless Crime . This latest film won the Golden Medal Screenwriter Award from the Independent Critics Association in Venice, and then won the Silver Hugo at the Chicago Film Festival. Shahram Mokri has also sat on several International Film Festival juries, including the Orizzonti jury at the 78th Venice Film Festival, 57th Chicago International Film Festival, 76th Locarno Film Festival, 5th Hanoi International Film Festival, 7th Bengaluru IFF etc.

In 2018, City of Rock earned him the Most Popular Actor among college students at the 25th Beijing College Student Film Festival. The same year, A Final Reunion won the Best Short Film Award at the 55th Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan. In 2020, The Reunions was a finalist for the Golden Goblet Award at the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival. In 2023, Dust to Dust earned him the Golden Goblet Award for Best Actor at the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival.
Huang Xiaoming

Huang Xiaoming, an actor, producer, whose masterpieces include American dreams in China, The Bravest, The Message, Forever Young, and The Return of the New Condor Heroes. The film American dreams in China won him Best Actor Award at the 29th Chinese Film Golden Rooster Awards, Best Actor Award at the 15th China Film Huabiao Awards, making him China's youngest actor who has won all the awards for best actor. In 2022, the film The Bravest won him Best Actor Award at the 33rd Chinese Film Golden Rooster Awards, and Best Actor Award at the 35th Hundred Flowers Awards. In 2023, Heart's Motive , a film he produced and starred in, was released and received wide acclaim.
Ma Yili

Ma Yili, a Chinese mainland actress, whose representative works include B for Busy, Lost and Found, Struggle , and The First Half of My Life . In 2008, she won the Best Actress Award at the 9th China Changchun Film Festival for her film The Good Man of Jiangbei. In 2018, "The First Half of My Life" won her Magnolia Award for Best Actress at the 24th Shanghai TV Festival. In the same year, Lost and Found won her Actress of the Year Award at the 10th Chinese Film Directors Association, and she was nominated for the Best Actress at the 32nd Chinese Film Golden Rooster Awards. In 2019, she won the 17th China Film Performing Arts Academy Award.
Liu Yi

Liu Yi, a screenwriter, Vice President of China Film Literature Society, whose representative works include Wolf Warriors, Magic Card, Cook Up a Storm, Wolf WarriorsⅡ, Sky Hunter, Young Bao Qingtian, Young Bao Qingtian II, and The Return of the Condor Heroes. China 1921 won the 26th China Television Golden Eagle Award for the Best drama. Wolf Warrior was nominated for Best Screenplay at the 33rd Hundred Flowers Awards. Wolf WarriorⅡwas nominated for Best Screenplay at the 34th Hundred Flowers Awards and the Best Asian Film at the 59th Australian Film and Television Academy Art Awards.

Zhang Tongdao

Zhang Tongdao, professor at School of Arts and Communication, Beijing Normal University (BNU), and Head of the BNU Documentary Center. Since 2010, he has overseen the publishing of The Study Report on China`s Documentary Development for 12 consecutive years. Zhang has also made many documentary films, including Kids Kingdom, Born in 2000, In Pursuit of Light, and many TV documentary series. His works have won him many awards, including Golden Panda Award, Golden Rouge Award, and those from State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television, at Qatar Peninsula International Documentary Festival.
Vikram Channa

He is Vice President of Warner Bros. Discovery, and Head of Content & Products, Great China and South East Asia. He has supervised and produced more than 1,200 documentaries in total. Mr. Channa’s representative works include China: Time of Xi, The Very Edge of China, The Day I Ran China, Masterclass, Tears of the Dragon, The Next Pandemic: Are We Ready Yet, How China Works, China by Numbers and Can Video Games Change the World, etc. He is a winner of many awards and nominations, including Asian Television Awards and Asia Academy Creative Awards, China Academy Award of Documentary Film, New York Television Awards, Promax International Awards, Telly Awards, and Omni Intermedia Awards.
Sun Shuyun

Sun Shuyun, writer, producer, and creative director of Eos Films. Shuyun is known for creating and producing ward-winning blue chip documentary films， and is one of the most prolific producers for international coproductions with China. Her works include A Year in Tibet ( BBC ), China: Nature's Ancient Kingdom (CCTV/BBC), Sky River of the Himalayas (CCTV/ORF/ZDF/ARTE), 1421: The Year China Discovered America (PBS), and Art of China (CCTV/BBC/ZDF).

Stephen Natanson

Stephen Natanson has directed and produced documentaries, publicity, fiction, shorts, features, animation, tv series, magazine sections, news for the last 30 years. He has been nominated for all three of the Italian cinema industry major awards, winning two of them, as well as more than 20 best film awards at film festivals worldwide. His films have been shown or been in competition at the Venice, Berlin, New York, San Francisco, London, Montreal, Toronto, Hong Kong, Auckland, Mumbai, Doha, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires film festivals. He has taught filmmaking, directing and new media technology at various universities and at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia since 1995.
Wang Lina

Wang Lina, a screenwriter and director, whose representative works include A First Farewell and Music of the Village . A First Farewell in which she acted as the writer and director is winner of many awards, including the Jury Award for Best Film at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival and Best Film Award at the Asian Future Section of the 31st Tokyo International Film Festival, winning her the Best Director Award at the 2nd Hainan International Film Festival, filmmaker of media attention at the "Belt and Road" film week of the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival, and other awards. Music of the Village in which she acted as director and co-screenwriter won Venture Award at the 7th Silk Road International Film Festival, Golden Rooster Film Venture Capital Conference jury winning project at the 33rd Chinese Film Golden Rooster Awards, and other awards.
Liu Yulin

Scriptwriter and director. In 2014, her short film DOOR GOD won the 41st Student Academy Awards (Oscar®) in the Narrative Category, among 20 other international awards. In 2016, she directed her first feature film SOMEONE TO TALK TO. In 2018, she made a series of VOGUE Film: THINKING OF SOMEONE; AS TIME GOES BY; THE LIGHT IN OUR LIFE. In the same year, she represented China in the BRICS International Film Festival, making a short film titled HALF THE SKY - DUMPLINGS. In 2020, she wrote and directed her second feature film IN OUR PRIME; In 2021, she directed her third feature film JUST FOR MEETING YOU; Both of these films were released in 2023.
