The 3rd Hainan Island International Film Festival

The third Hainan Island International Film Festival was co hosted by China Central Radio and Television Corporation and the Hainan Provincial People's Government, and was held in Sanya, Hainan from December 5 to December 12, 2020.

This year's film festival received a total of 4376 registered films from 114 countries and regions, accounting for 293% year-on-year. The film festival will showcase 189 films, bringing together highly acclaimed works from both domestic and international audiences in 2020. It will also feature "official recommendations" in three categories: feature films, documentary films, and short films, highlighting international, professional, and inclusive aspects. At the same time, this year's film festival will also select 15 excellent overseas films for online screening

On December 5, 2020, the third Hainan Island International Film Festival opened in Haitang Bay, Sanya. Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Central Propaganda Department, Director of the Central Radio and Television Station, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Third Hainan Island International Film Festival, as well as Shen Xiaoming, Secretary of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Party Group of the Hainan Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Shen Haixiong announced the opening of the third Hainan Island International Film Festival.
