Member of the China Film Association (CFA) and the Chinese Society of Cinematographers (CNSC). He holds a Doctorate in Film Studies and graduated from the Cinematography Department of the Beijing Film Academy. He was a visiting scholar in Film Production at New York University. His works include: Duckweed, Lost, Found, My People, My Country, Fire on the Plain, Deep Sea, Only the River Flows, and The Sunshine Club. His works have been selected for over 50 international film festivals including Cannes, Berlin, San Sebastián, and Rotterdam. He has received Best Cinematography nominations at multiple film festivals, and won the Best Cinematography Award at the 19th China Changchun Film Festival, the Silver Award at the 44th Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers' Film Festival, and the Best Cinematography Award at the 2nd Academy Awards, among others.
